The Pan Pac Mountain Bike Park, just 10 minutes drive north of Napier, is the 'home' of the Hawke’s Bay Mountain Bike club.

To ride at the park you need to purchase a visitor permit, which are available online.

Set within privately owned Pan Pac Tangoio Forest, the park is the Hawke's Bay Mountain Bike Club's purpose-built facility. The trails were significantly damaged during Cyclone Gabrielle, but incredible efforts have reopened more than 40km of trails across Waipunga, Replanted and Tait Blocks. There are trails for riders of all abilities, ranging from flat easy Grade 2 to steep, demanding Grade 5 trails. Keep tabs on the club's website for the latest details about newly opened tracks.

All park access is now via the Esk Valley – follow SH5 northwest for about 5km, then turn into Waipunga Road, cross the bridge and take the first forest road on your right (Burden Road). Follow this until you reach the carpark.
