The playground was named after May and Peter Harris in recognition of their significant donation to the Marine Parade playground project.

The extensive playground is divided into different areas, with the equipment in each area being appropriate for different age groups. Great for parents with little ones as you don't have to worry about boisterous bigger kids charging through the playground. Plus there's plenty of shaded areas to protect children from the summer heat.

Looking out over the Pacific Ocean and Cape Kidnappers, there's arguably no better view from a playground in all of Hawke's Bay. No matter the weather conditions, you'll always find plenty of people enjoying the playground and the views.

The playground is also close to everything else that the family-friendly mecca of Marine Parade has to offer, including the neighbouring Napier Junior Bike Track.
