Renowned for its horticultural landscaping and formal gardens, visitors are invited to take a seat at the many benches dotted around the garden. With a variation of flora and fauna, the garden is quite the treat in Havelock North.
If visiting in Spring/Summer, the garden will be ablaze with gorgeous roses and other flowers. Autumn time reveals beautiful copper tones, golds and makes a stunning backdrop for photography.
The reserve itself is considered a heritage park for the Hastings District. Part of the grounds is currently used as a space to play croquet and other informal games.
These gardens are always open to the public, with Duart House open 10am-12midday on the first Sunday of every month (unless otherwise booked).
Park on Duart Road or head up the driveway for access – bonus, the reserve is dog-friendly (on lead only).
