Aramoana in Central Hawke's Bay is a lovely spot for day-trippers as you can park up with easy access to the beach where you can spend the day diving, swimming, and surfing.
Aramoana has beach access and reserve with public amenities. Camping is prohibited but there are 3 marked parking spaces at the southern end of the public car park where fully self contained motor homes are permitted to stay overnight.
Aramoana Beach is steeped in history with the McHardy Homestead standing tall as you drive into the beach settlement, and the farm’s original Woolshed, built in 1906, sits right on the beachfront. The recently renovated woolshed is a heritage-listed building.
