Centrally located within one of Napier’s premier suburban parks, Anderson Park playground's accessible and imaginative features create an inclusive environment that encourages all abilities and ages to play alongside each other.

This includes structures for climbing and sliding, flying foxes, swings, water play, and functional artwork with messages in braille and interactive elements, including a xylophone, musical bridge and drums. Other features include:

  • All physical challenges provided for at all age levels; swinging, sliding, climbing, spinning
  • High and low activity areas for all ages

  • Areas to provide elevation, enclosure and sensory experiences

  • Transition features - younger children are provided for at the western end, and older children at the eastern end, where the skate bowl already exists.

Shortly after opening in 2018, the playground won the New Zealand Recreation Association Outstanding Park Award.

There is street parking around almost all of Anderson Park's perimeter, with two dedicated carparks close to the playground near the intersection of Auckland and Kennedy Roads - one off each road. The park has toilet facilities.
