The expression "a seat at my table" embodies the essence of connection and shared experience, inviting voices and perspectives to come together. This solo exhibition offers viewers a chance to immerse themselves in photorealistic depictions of objects that evoke a sense of nostalgia—items that may be familiar from the past or resonate through personal memories.
Continuing from a previous exploration of cherished vintage collections, this exhibition intertwines personal history with symbolic meaning. Grapes, representing wisdom and fertility, subtly reference Bacchus and Dionysus, while a large cooked crayfish evokes temptation. These carefully rendered objects bridge the gap between symbolic significance and fond memories of summer, the richness of Aotearoa, and cherished moments.
Join us for the highly anticipated exhibition of Helen Kerridge, "Take a Seat at My Table."
Be part of the opening night, Friday 20th September. We look forward to seeing you.
